FastFlow CNG Partners with GAIN to Bring CNG to Laredo

Laredo, TX – July 6, 2016 – GAIN® Clean Fuel, a brand of U.S. Gain, is continuing their
partnership with FastFlow CNG, a division of Independence Fuel Systems (IFS) to build and manage
another GAIN Clean Fuel and FastFlow CNG co-branded Compressed Natural Gas station in Southern
Texas. The station, located at 15668 N US Highway 83, Laredo, TX will meet the CNG fueling needs of
C.A.T. Inc, to provide the North American carrier and other trucking fleets with an alternative
fuel to support the growing number of CNG trucks. This GAIN Clean Fuel/FastFlow CNG station is
scheduled to be open September, 2016.

“This site will complete the network of CNG stations we need to fuel CNG trucks on our routes,”
said C.A.T. Inc. President Daniel Goyette. “We have successfully added CNG to our fleet over the
past year and have seen substantial savings in emissions. As a carrier, we’re proud to do our part
to ensure pollution from the trucking industry is minimized so we can leave the planet in a better
place for the next generation.”

Nearly a third of C.A.T.’s fleet of 350 tractors have been converted to CNG. This station, along
with four additional GAIN Clean Fuel stations opened last year in Toronto, Ontario; Coteau-du- Lac,
Montreal; Charlotte, North Carolina and Scranton, Pennsylvania, as part of the partnership, will be
combined with the existing GAIN Clean Fuel North American network to provide C.A.T. access to a
reliable and quality source of CNG.

“C.A.T. is an industry leader; to make this significant commitment to change its business model for
CNG is admirable,” said GAIN Clean Fuel General Manager Bill Renz. “C.A.T.’s commitment to improve
sustainability for the trucking industry is evident in their approach to convert 100 trucks at
once.”

FastFlow CNG is partnering with GAIN Clean Fuel to make this location a reality. Their expertise
and stellar reputation in the Texas market make Fast Fuel CNG an ideal partner. GAIN Clean Fuel
prides themselves on fast fueling stations for their customers. With FastFlow CNG’s commitment to
the same, this partnership will provide fleets a quality, fast filling CNG choice on this
well-traveled lane connecting the United States to Mexico.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to partner with GAIN Clean Fuel to provide C.A.T. a site that
will close the loop on their CNG fueling needs,” said IFS Marketing Director Matt Russell.
“FastFlow CNG has served this region to help build America’s energy independence by providing high
quality CNG stations and we look forward to the additional opportunities that come with partnering
with GAIN Clean Fuel to be part of a recognized nation-wide CNG network. Together we can continue
to encourage carriers to convert to CNG.”

FastFlow CNG Partners With Gain Clean Fuel to Expand CNG Network

Texas triangle shipping to benefit from GAIN® Clean Fuel and Fast Flow CNG partnership

Appleton, WI – June 29, 2015 – GAIN® Clean Fuel, a brand of U.S. Gain, is partnering with FastFlow CNG, a division of Independence Fuel Systems (IFS) to locate three GAIN Clean Fuel compressed natural gas stations (CNG) in Texas. Two of the GAIN stations will be co-located with existing Fast Flow CNG facilities, one along Interstate 20 in Longview and the other on Highway 59 in Carthage. The third GAIN Clean Fuel/Fast Flow CNG co-location is under construction along Interstate 45 in Centerville. It is expected to be open in late June.

“We’re thrilled to partner with such a well-established and trusted CNG provider in the region,” said U.S. Gain General Manager Bill Renz. “These three locations will support major trucking routes that connect Dallas, Houston and Shreveport, along with multiple other routes throughout the rest of the country, and will provide significant advantages to the carriers we serve.”

This region of Texas is particularly important as a major transportation route for the shipping industry, and as a significant east-west route for carriers hauling commerce between major southern cities. Partnering brings together a strong regional CNG presence with an international brand.

“This is an exciting opportunity for us to further our mission of helping build America’s energy independence by providing high quality CNG stations,” said IFS Marketing Director, Matt Russell. “We’re proud to have Fast Flow CNG serve this region and look forward to the additional opportunities that come with partnering with an internationally-recognized brand to continue building on our mission. Together we can continue to encourage carriers to convert to CNG.”

The three sites will be included in GAIN Clean Fuel’s North American infrastructure of CNG stations. Continually building the GAIN Clean Fuel CNG network will help encourage more carriers to make the conversion to CNG with the confidence that an affordable, cleaner burner alternative to diesel fuel is available along these routes.

These three locations will provide easy-access, fast-fill capabilities. They will also accept fleet cards for truck convenience and have proven reliability to ensure that fleets have a consistent fuel source. They are open for use by other fleets and the general public.

Company cuts ribbon on CNG station near Gregg County’s busiest interchange

LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) – Independence Fuel Systems cut the ribbon today on a compressed natural gas fueling station in southeast Longview.

The station, on Pittman Street behind Texas Best Smokehouse, has been open about three weeks and already serves five oilfield companies and an interstate trucking company, according to Longview-based Independence Fuel Systems. It’s a block away from the interchange of Interstate 20 and Eastman Road, which each day draws about 37,000 vehicles from the west, and 21,000 vehicles from the north, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

“If you look at our price line, you’ll see why it makes sense,” said Brad Thiessen, director of operations for Independence, “especially with the price of diesel going up this week, again. It’s half of gasoline and diesel, or greater.”

UPS turns to natural-gas trucks

WASHINGTON — United Parcel Service Inc. will purchase 285 more natural-gas powered trucks in 2014, covering every new heavy-duty vehicle purchased for its small-package delivery business, its chief operating officer said.

The purchases will build on a previously announced buy of 700 natural-gas trucks, said David Abney, the Atlanta-based company’s chief operating officer. UPS sees liquefied and compressed natural gas as a “bridge fuel” over the next decade, he said.

CNG Wins More Fans as East Texas Fueling Stations Become Reality

The long-sought promise of a less-expensive, cleaner and abundant fuel source for fleet and private vehicles is being fulfilled in East Texas.

Compressed natural gas filling stations are beginning to open across the area, with the first such public station in Longview set to open in a few weeks. It is the first of three planned by Independence Fuel Systems for the Longview area, but it won’t be the first in East Texas. For the past few months, a Peake Fuel Solutions station has been operating in Marshall.

As the fuel becomes more readily available, it is removing a big hurdle that has stopped…

Bill Promotes Natural Gas-Powered Buses

HARRISBURG — Natural gas-powered school and public transit buses might be the newest development in the Pennsylvania’s natural gas sector.

U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., has introduced new legislation that supports the transition of natural gas as a vehicle fuel — creating a rebate program for the purchase of natural gas-powered buses, as well as tax credits for natural gas filling stations and fuel.

“When you have an opportunity like natural gas development in Pennsylvania, you have to be thoughtful in how you put into place a strategy that will lead to job growth,” Casey said of this transportation-focused bill. “I think the way to do that is to be more narrowly focused than some other (bills) have been.”

Interest in CNG Vehicles Grows in East Texas, but Infrastructure Still Issue

The reason a business would commit resources to convert its fleet to run on compressed natural gas is simple.

“Saving money,” Art Hughes, chief accounting officer for Buffco Production, said at a compressed natural gas summit in Longview this past week. “We operate two drilling rigs and a number of trucks, and CNG could make operating both of them cheaper.”
