Love’s Buying CNG-Powered Tractors

Love’s Travel Stops is buying 50 new Freightliner Cascadia trucks with the Cummins Westport 12-liter compressed natural gas engine for its fleet of fuel haulers, operating under the Gemini Transport brand.

Gemini, a sister company to Love’s, has been testing the 12-liter CNG engine in one of its Freightliner fuel trucks since September 2012.

GM CEO Advocates Government Back Natural Gas Refueling Stations

Daniel Akerson is all too aware of the fact that someone people will never forgive General Motors for the government bailout that kept it in business, but the automaker’s chief executive is once again calling on the government for help.

In a meeting with the Chronicle’s editorial board this morning, Akerson said the U.S. needs to capitalize on the abundance of cheap natural gas, which includes encouraging natural gas vehicles — both cars and trucks.
